An exquisite pair of early 18th century Japanese Imari trumpet vases. Each central panel decorated with a beautifully depicted kara shi-shi lions and framed by borders of blue scrolling flowers on a dark blue and gold background. This large Japanese Imari vase, dating from circa 1700, features an unusual decoration depicting two large quails perching on a tree branch on a blue background with hexagons panels depicting butterflies and stylized flowers. The lid depicting same geometric patterns and surmounted by a trunk shaped finial with a small quail resting on it. Condition: The vase is perfect; the lid has restorations to the border. Rare, unusually decorated vase with elegant mellow colors, very decorative.

A mid 18th Century Louis XV Commode, circa 1750

A handsome and extremely decorative English late 18th century Japanned black rectangular tilt top chinoiserie side table. The table is raised by a richly painted tripod base with gilt designs of foliate scrolls on a black lacquered background, circa 1790-1800. In overall excellent sold condition, the top has a very slight bow due to the aging of the wood.

An extremely rare Arita vase, late 17th century, lamped. The ovoid vase is decorated in underglaze blue with a large Ho-Ho bird or Phoenix surrounded with stylized flowers. A similar pair of vases was recently exhibited in ‘The Art of Japan’ at Christie’s King Street, London on the 8th of December 2016. The neck of this vase has been reduced and consequently we have had this converted into a lamp with a hand-carved giltwood top and base.

An imposing late 17th Century Japanese Blue and white Octagonal Jar. Extremely rare decoration with irises and stylised clouds, possibly unrecorded, museum worthy example. The lid is matched.
