A similar, although slightly larger, example in: Mallett, 2010 catalogue, pag.26 : Visite Privee, Hotels Particuliers de Paris, pag. 91 : The collection of the late Duchess of Devonshire. An identical pair sold £11.250 at Christies on July 15th 2020. Another identical pair sold for the same price at Christies on sept 17Th 2013.

A well painted medium sized Japanese Imari vase depicting phoenixes and gru amongst flowers and blossoming branches on a cloud shaped underglaze blue decorated background. The lid with a shi-shi lion on a rockwork. Condition: Two pieces restuck on the rim about 5 cm (clearly visible in the picture) and restoration to the finial. Very vivid and well preserved colors.

A Large Japanese Arita Blue and White unfinished vase, dating around 1690. Decorated in underglaze blue on white background with large geometric panels and ribbons on a peonies and flowers background. This vase as been left undecorated for a later secondary coloured glaze or lacquer application. A similar example, supplied by Horneman Antiques in 2016, in the British Museum, London, Inv. Nr. 2016, 3001.1

A large early 18th Century Japanese Arita Sleeve vase. Painted in green, yellow and turquoise enamels, iron red and gilt and underglaze blue. A Japanese imari vase of baluster form and decorated with panels of birds, dragons and fish amidst peonies and a scrolling foliate ground enriched with gilding. Similar examples: Pitti Palace, Florence, Royal Apartment. Christies London, sale 10901, lot 40.

Large 18th Century Japanese Imari Vase Lamped

An early 18th century oak cabinet on stand, the double domed top with a pair of shaped panelled doors enclosing two shelves, the base with two long drawers with panelled fronts, on cabriole legs and pad feet. Brass lion head ring pulls on base drawers, English, circa 1720.
