An impressive and tall pair of Japanese Imari Sleeve, or trumpet, vases dating around 1700, decorated on the inside with heart shaped panels with butterflies and peonies, the outside is a large shaped panel with phoenixes, cranes and mandarin ducks in a rocky landscape with flowering prunus tree branches, the upper and lower part with elaborate blue and white scrolling flowers and leaves highlighted in gold.
Extremely decorative, they can be made into lamps if required
